Job Summary:
Emergency Room Nurse in Asheville, North Carolina. This position involves working in a high-volume, Level 2 trauma center with comprehensive stroke capabilities, serving an ethnically diverse community. The role requires providing compassionate patient care in a fast-paced environment with a focus on teamwork and excellence.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Shifts are 12 hours with a minimum of 48 hours per week, starting from 08/03/2026.
• Required Qualifications: A minimum of 2 years of ICU or emergency room experience in a Level 2 trauma center, including at least 1 year of ER setting experience; current certifications include ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS, and ENPC (within 90 days).
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in a high-volume ED, particularly one with over 100,000 annual visits, and familiarity with HCA environment preferred.
• Unit Specifics:
  • Number of Beds: 101
  • Typical Patient Ratios: 4:1, up to 7:1 for behavioral holds
  • Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors
  • Documentation System: Cerner
  • Staffing: Techs, unit clerks, and nurses working days and nights, with the ability to work across all ED sections.
  • Certifications Required on Hire: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS, ENPC (within 90 days).
  • Dress Code: Navy scrubs.
  • Orientation: 4-hour hospital orientation followed by an 8-hour shift on the floor.
  • Floating Policy: Limited to ED sections only, open to all areas in the ED.
  • Patient Experience: Emphasis on AIDET, respectful behavior, and continuous patient communication.
  • Schedule Requirements: Working every other weekend, with flexibility needed to meet departmental needs.
• Additional Information:
  • Tobacco use is prohibited on all Mission Health campuses.
  • Kronos clock-in instructions provided; clock in with designated codes based on shift activity.
  • Candidate must demonstrate a teamwork mentality and coaching ability.
