Job Summary Advanced Systems Engineer (Arizona Department of Public Safety, Phoenix, AZ)
- Serve as senior technical lead for the Digital Forensic Lab (DFL), supporting secure, high-availability forensic infrastructure for criminal investigations.
- Perform duties as systems administrator, domain administrator, network engineer, and technical advisor.
- Design, implement, manage, and maintain complex network and systems architecture.
- Administer and maintain Active Directory domains, including Domain Controllers, DNS, DHCP, and Windows servers.
- Provide expert-level management of network, server, storage, and forensic lab infrastructure.
- Maintain and troubleshoot Network Attached Storage (NAS) and archival backup systems.
- Configure and deploy forensic workstations and related hardware.
- Maintain antivirus systems, software licensing, dongles, user licenses, and system updates.
- Collaborate with Certified Forensic Computer Examiners to resolve technical issues and assist with technology procurement.
- Develop system documentation, network mapping, and technical reports.
- Archive and restore digital case files, including tape library operations.
- Ensure all systems meet AZDPS and lab security standards.
- Provide expert testimony in court on system integrity and data security as required.
- Onsite, full-time role (no remote work); must be able to work flexible hours as needed.
- Requires 5+ years of relevant technical experience (with 2+ years in large enterprise environments), Bachelor's degree in IT or related field, and must pass background/security clearance.
- Local candidates only; must be available for in-person interview and quick start.
