Working under the direct supervision of Surgeons, Physicians, and Registered Nurses, this role ensures optimal operating room preparation, maintains sterile technique, and provides intraoperative support to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.This position is essential to advancing our mission of providing best-in-class orthopaedic and spine care through precision, teamwork, and accountability.Key Responsibilities:Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies according to procedure-specific requirements.Maintain strict aseptic technique throughout all surgical procedures.Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies.Anticipate surgeon needs and respond promptly during surgery.Perform surgical counts (sponges, needles, instruments) in collaboration with nursing staff.Prepare and position patients for surgery, ensuring comfort, safety, and proper anatomical alignment.Handle, clean, decontaminate, and sterilize surgical instruments per regulatory and manufacturer standards.Monitor sterile field integrity and immediately correct contamination risks.Assist with the cleaning of the operating room.Comply with OSHA, Joint Commission, CMS, and infection prevention standards.Participate at in-service staff meetings.Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and continuing education activities.RequirementsMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology programTwo (2) years of related experienceBLS CertificationPreferred Qualifications:Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification or equivalent credentialSpine and total joint experience.Physical Requirements:Ability to lift and position patients and equipment (up to 50 lbs)Prolonged standing, bending, and fine motor activityExposure to bloodborne pathogens and surgical chemicals in accordance with OSHA Standards.
