Virtual Social Studies Adjunct Teacher Needed

Virtual adjunct teachers for the ConnectED program at the InnovatED Learning Center are needed. The Social Studies Teacher will teach for 45 minutes daily and plan for 45 minutes weekly. Terms of employment are $35 per hour. Teach synchronous online classes Monday through Friday, following the Washington County Public Schools student calendar. Minimum qualifications include knowledge of materials and methods in the field of specialization, knowledge and use of technology for instruction, understanding of the goals of Washington County Public Schools and a commitment to their achievement, positive interpersonal and communication skills with students, staff, and parents, understanding of the teaching/learning/assessment process, excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills, knowledge of current research and its application in the field of specialization, maintain regular, on-time attendance, and able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodations.

Essential job functions include planning and providing appropriate learning experiences for students, supervising students in a variety of school-related settings, creating a classroom environment conducive to learning, demonstrating the use of a variety of teaching techniques and instructional resources, providing an atmosphere conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students, demonstrating fair, firm, and consistent behavior towards students, demonstrating effective communication skills and positive interpersonal relations, guiding the learning process toward the achievement of school system goals, assisting administrative staff and other staff members in reaching the mission of the school, maintaining appropriate records, and monitoring appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
