Role Description We are seeking a full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for an on-site position located in Brookhaven, GA. The role involves providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, developing and implementing treatment plans, and prescribing medications. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver compassionate, evidence-based mental health care to our clients. Additional responsibilities include maintaining detailed documentation, monitoring patient progress, and supporting clients on their journey to recovery.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Initial Health and Physical Assessments: Perform comprehensive health assessments to evaluate clients' physical health status and identify any underlying medical conditions upon admission Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop individualized treatment plans based on clients' physical and mental health needs. Psychiatric Evaluations: Conduct in-depth psychiatric evaluations to assess clients' mental health status, including past psychiatric history, current symptoms, and psychosocial factors. Formulate accurate diagnoses based on clinical assessment findings and established diagnostic criteria. Medication Management: Conduct thorough assessments to determine appropriate medication regimens for clients. Prescribe and adjust psychiatric medications as needed, in accordance with best practices and regulatory guidelines. Educate clients and their families about prescribed medications, including potential side effects and interactions. Ensure clients undergo necessary diagnostic procedures, such as TB tests, urine analysis, and blood draws, to monitor medication efficacy and assess overall health status. Coordinate with laboratory and diagnostic imaging services to facilitate timely and accurate test results. Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care and support for clients. Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings to review client progress, discuss treatment goals, and make adjustments to treatment plans as necessary. Documents all assessments and evaluation in clients chat in the EMR Other Duties Monitors clients medication charts. Ensure proper documentation of TB screening and H&Ps within the required time frame. Maintains an open line of communication between the facility and medical professionals. Assists with admissions as needed. Facilitates client’s assessments as it pertains to health and wellness issues. Provides 1:1 supervision of at-risk residents (ATA rick, suicidal ideation, etc.) Ordering medication and logging medication onto EMR charts. Assist with scheduling laboratory testing, uploading results and communicating with HCP and the clinical team. Follow emergency procedures exactly (including phone call protocol, etc.) Conducts UA drug screen collection when directed, following appropriate procedures when assigned. Keep overall grounds clear of trash and debris, water plants, windows or other chores as deemed necessary by supervisors. Participates in Health and Safety meetings. Participates in weekly Treatment Team meetings. Qualifications Expertise in Mental Health Nursing and Psychiatric Care Certification and experience as a Nurse Practitioner Proficiency in delivering high-quality Mental Health Care Strong knowledge of Nursing practices in a behavioral health setting State licensure as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Nurse Practitioner with a specialization in psychiatry Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills Experience working in a multidisciplinary team Understanding of trauma-informed care and co-occurring disorders is a plus Master’s degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited program #J-18808-Ljbffr Valor Behavioral Health
