Onsite Auto/Diesel Mechanic - Texas City, TX
Turner Industries Group is looking for experienced Auto/Diesel Equipment Mechanics for long-term nested maintenance at a site in the Texas City, TX area. The successful candidate will have experience working on heavy equipment, gas/diesel engines, and hydraulic systems as well as small engine pieces of equipment such as golf carts and tractors. TWIC Required. This position offers:
- Regular 40 Hours+ per week (Overtime after 40)
- Overtime and call-outs as needed - overtime paid at time-and-a-half
- Health, (BCBS) Dental, (Delta) Vision, and Life insurance available
- 401k with employer match from day 1, no vesting required
- Short/Long-term disability available
Equipment Mechanic Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs as well as preventative maintenance
- Troubleshoot issues with diesel engines
- Determine what parts and tools are necessary to make repairs
- Complete shop paperwork
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
Heavy Equipment Mechanic Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Post-secondary certificate or degree in engineering OR training as a mechanic is a plus
- 5+ years of experience with diesel/heavy equipment repair
- TWIC Card
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
Per diem and relocation is not available for this position; the successful candidate will be a current resident in the Houston metro area.
