Accountant

**Job Title:** General Ledger Accountant **Location:** Ashburn VA **Onsite 3 days week** **Job Type:** contract **W2 Rate $40- 50 hr** Jefferson Wells is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced General Ledger (GL) Accountant to join our client's finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, month-end close processes, reconciliations, and journal entries-particularly in a manufacturing and inventory-focused environment. **Key Responsibilities:** + Manage and execute month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met and accuracy is maintained. + Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in accordance with GAAP. + Perform general ledger account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. + Handle intercompany transactions and reconciliations across multiple entities. + Support inventory accounting, including cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis, inventory valuation, and cycle count adjustments. + Collaborate with the manufacturing and operations teams to ensure accurate reporting of production costs and inventory levels. + Assist in financial audits by providing necessary documentation and support. + Contribute to process improvements and ensure internal controls are followed. **Qualifications:** + Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. + 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. + Solid understanding of US GAAP and general accounting principles. + Experience with inventory accounting and cost accounting preferred. + Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite). + Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. **JEFFERSON WELLS - Who We Are** **:** Jefferson Wells ( a division of ManpowerGroup, is a professional services firm delivering solutions in Finance & Accounting, Internal Audit, Risk & Compliance and Tax.
