Site Leader Series - Part-Time/Seasonal*

Overview Youth Enrichment Site Leaders work within the Parks and Recreation Department’s Youth Enrichment section. They serve as the direct on‑site supervisor of part‑time employees and program participants at satellite youth enrichment programs. Programs include Safekey (before‑and‑after‑school at elementary schools) and Teen Scene (after‑school at middle schools), as well as other recreational and enrichment programs. Position is part‑time and hourly; it does not include health/medical benefits. Positions eligible for PERS may have a slightly reduced hourly rate. Work Hours and Shifts Annual average of 19 hours per week (maximum 988 hours per year) Potentially 40 hours per week during the summer season (May–August) Hours may vary and include early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and split shifts (e.g., before and after school) Work Locations Recreation Centers Senior Centers Aquatic Centers and Pools Battle Born Kids Childcare Program (summer when CCSD is not in session) Safekey and Teen Scene programs at CCSD elementary and middle schools Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old at the time of application. High school diploma or equivalent. Two (2) years of experience working in recreation programs. An equivalent combination of related training and experience may be considered. Possess and maintain a valid Nevada or "border state" driver's license, as defined by NRS 483. Must have the ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certifications within the first three (3) months of employment. Incumbents may be required to obtain specific technical certifications, licenses, and registrations. Desirable: Two (2) years as a group leader in a recreation day camp–style program and/or any other youth enrichment related education, training, and work experience.
