You lead the estimating group while staying hands-on with the estimates yourself, and work closely with operations from bid through hand-off.WHAT YOU WILL DOLead and mentor the estimating teamTurn client RFPs and scopes of work into complete, defensible cost estimatesRun quantity take-offs and build bid schedules from plans and specificationsJoin pre-bid meetings, bid strategy sessions and site walksDefine subcontractor and supplier packages and pressure-test their pricingAssemble bid packages and carry them through internal approvalCompare actual costs to budget and feed what you learn into the next bidSupport project managers through hand-off, resource planning and change ordersWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR8+ years in estimating with growing responsibilityUtility infrastructure or heavy civil estimating experienceCommercial estimating software: B2W, Accubid, HCSS or similarStrong Excel; MS Project or P6 schedulingAble to pull a clean scope from plans, specs and bid documentsDegree in engineering, construction management or finance preferred; equivalent experience consideredCOMPENSATION$130,000 - $150,000 base depending on experience, plus medical, dental and vision, 401(k) with company match, and paid vacation, holiday and sick time.Type: direct hire
