Our team recently delivered the new PlayStation Link, PULSE Explore and PULSE Elite products, recently announced the FlexStrike and PULSE Elevate products, and are hard at work on what comes next. We are looking for someone with a data driven mindset, physics background interested or experience with any of the following: audio, embedded firmware, UI/UX and gaming intersection. You will be responsible for technical leadership, system architecture, and execution across the firmware domain, working closely with internal teams and external partners.Contribute to UI/UX development to support audio devicesContribute to developing audio device testing to improve the utilization of audio DSP and develop algorithmic improvementsOwn build and smoke testing process with mentorship from senior engineersAuthor clear specifications for code you contribute toContribute to developing unit test frameworkCommunicate clearly, commit and deliver on deadlinesSupport manufacturing builds and coordinate firmware activities during product bring-upSupport products post-launchSkillsC/C++ embedded software developmentExperience with UI development – React or other frameworks;Knowledge of frequency domain analysis of audio, video streamingKnowledge and/or experience with RF/wireless systems (e.g., Bluetooth, low-latency audio, or similar technologies)Strong system-level thinking across hardware and software boundariesStrong problem-solving and debugging skills to drive iterative design processQualificationsBachelors or Masters in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or related field (or equivalent experience)1-2 years of experience in embedded firmware developmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsCritical thinking and data driven mindsetPassion for gaming, audio, digital entertainment and consumer electronics is a plusNice to HaveExperience with wireless audio or ultra-low latency systemsExperience with kernel or driver development (Linux, Windows, or similar)Working ConditionsSmall team environment; feels like a start-up within a large organizationAt SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role's base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
