MSL / Senior MSL I, Dermatology (South Texas)

AbbVie seeks a Medical Science Liaison or Senior MSL for dermatology in South Texas. The role involves serving as a field-based scientific expert who communicates with healthcare professionals, maintains relationships with key opinion leaders, and supports research initiatives across the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop professional relationships with thought leaders, academic centers, and researchers in dermatology
• Present scientific education on disease state, therapeutic landscape, and AbbVie products to healthcare professionals
• Support research initiatives including site evaluation, investigator recruitment, and external expert identification
• Serve as medical/scientific resource to healthcare providers by answering unsolicited medical questions
• Provide ongoing training to internal personnel and collaborate with cross-functional commercial teams

Requirements

• Advanced degree required (PharmD, MD/DO, PhD, or APP in relevant scientific discipline)
• Senior MSL I: minimum 2 years relevant experience, typically 3 years direct MSL experience
• MSL: 0-2 years relevant experience
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and strong written/verbal communication skills
• Ability to meet HCIR credentialing requirements including background checks and immunization verification
• Ability to reside in assigned territory and travel up to 75%
• Strong interpersonal, presentation, teaching, and organizational skills
