Lift Truck Maintenance Technician, PM, Industrial Maint - Jacksonville

Lift Truck Maintenance Technicians diagnose and perform mechanical, electrical and hydraulic repairs on a variety of powered industrial equipment, including Publix's lift trucks which are also commonly known as forklifts. They use hand tools as well as computerized testing equipment in order to locate and repair problems. The Technicians read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. To perform preventive maintenance, they routinely check items such as hydraulic fluid levels, tire pressure, the condition of the forks, drive control, steering and the brakes. Furthermore, they use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to generate and process the maintenance repairs performed. One of the following positions is available: Lift Truck Technician Class A, B, or C. The position offered is contingent upon the qualifications and work experience of the candidate.

Required Qualifications

The required qualifications for this position include:

• be at least 18 years old (or at least 19 years old for positions in Alabama
• ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended periods of time
• ability to lift a minimum of 65 pounds
• ability to stand, stoop, crouch, kneel, lift, reach, push, and pull
• ability to obtain certification and operate powered industrial equipment
• ability to read, write, and solve math problems

Preferred Qualifications

Current Industrial Maintenance associate have mechanical and diagnostic knowledge of powered industrial equipment, as well as, knowledge of circuits and operational sequence of components

• ability to read and interpret blue prints, schematics, and technical manuals experience maintaining powered industrial trucks (electric powered forklifts)
• working knowledge of hydraulic systems
• working knowledge of D.C. voltage circuits and operational sequence of components

Year End Bonus

To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week's pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks' pay.

Other Compensation Information

Weekend differential: A $2.00 per hour weekend differential is paid to associates for hours worked between 12:00 a.m. Saturday through 11:59 p.m. Sunday. Night differential: A $.75 per hour night differential is paid to associates regularly scheduled to work any hours between midnight and 3:00 a.m. (this does not include shifts that end at midnight or begin at 3:00 a.m.).
