Certified Behavioral Health Technician 

Duties

• Monitor and record vital signs and medical documentation accurately to ensure comprehensive patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Conduct intake services and participate in ongoing care strategies
• Provide crisis intervention and crisis management support during behavioral episodes or emergencies to ensure safety for patients and staff
• Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to medical terminology standards
• Support patients with daily activities and meals
• Maintain a safe environment by performing behavior management strategies and de-escalation techniques when necessary

Skills

• Proven experience working with adults in a mental health setting
• Strong knowledge of crisis intervention, crisis management, and behavior management practices
• Ability to perform medical procedures such as vital signs measurement and medication administration accurately
• Familiarity with principles and their application in a mental health settings
• Excellent communication skills for effective patient care documentation and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Understanding of medical records management, HIPAA compliance, and medical terminology
• Compassionate attitude with the ability to handle sensitive situations involving PTSD care
