Medical Director Veterinarian

Introduction
Our client is a practice hiring a Medical Director to join a small animal general practice providing care to cats, dogs, pocket pets, and exotics. The clinic is seeking an experienced veterinarian to lead the team while delivering high-quality medicine in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The role involves a combination of leadership and clinical responsibilities, including overseeing medical standards while providing hands-on care across wellness and preventive care, internal medicine, dentistry, soft tissue surgery, urgent care, and advanced surgical procedures. The Medical Director will support the team, guide clinical decision-making, and maintain high standards of patient care while fostering a collaborative and respectful work environment. This is a full-time position suited to experienced veterinarians.

Practice Details
Our client is a busy, well-paced general practice with a strong caseload covering wellness and preventive care, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, urgent care, and internal medicine. The clinic is equipped with digital X-ray, in-house laboratory diagnostics, and modern surgical and monitoring equipment. Services include wellness care and exams, vaccinations, dental care, diagnostics and imaging, spay and neuter procedures, parasite prevention, deworming, allergies and dermatology, pet surgery, nutrition and diet counseling, and advanced surgical services. The culture is collaborative, mentorship-driven, and client-focused, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, respect, and medical autonomy. The practice is supported by skilled technicians, dedicated client service representatives, and a responsive leadership team. Hospital opening hours are Monday 8:00 am-7:00 pm, Tuesday 8:00 am-5:00 pm, Wednesday to Thursday 8:00 am-7:00 pm, Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm, Saturday 8:00 am-2:00 pm, and Sunday closed.

Team
The team consists of 6 DVMs supported by a great tenured support team. The environment is highly collaborative and mentorship-focused, with strong support allowing veterinarians to focus on delivering high-quality care.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
