As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a prominent public cultural location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, respond to security-related concerns, and provide exceptional customer service to visitors and staff. You will support access control and alarm-related activities while communicating professionally. Position Type: Part Time Pay Rate: $20.76 / Hour Job Schedule: DayTimeMon11:30 AM - 05:15 PMTue11:30 AM - 05:15 PMThur11:30 AM - 05:15 PMFri12:00 PM - 07:00 PMSun11:00 AM - 06:00 PM What You'll Do: Provide customer service to museum visitors, staff, volunteers, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities. Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures. Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout galleries, public spaces, administrative areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity, unauthorized access, and/or potential hazards. Monitor access points and assist with visitor flow, credential verification, and adherence to museum policies during daily operations, special events, and exhibitions. Document observations, incidents, and completed patrols in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific reporting procedures. Minimum Requirements: A guard card or license is preferred. Alarm panel experience is preferred. Access control and badge experience is preferred. Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred. Customer service experience is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
