Assistant Dietary Aide & Cook

Position Overview: This entry-level role involves assisting in cafeteria and kitchen operations, including serving food from counters or steam tables, pouring beverages, and setting out individual servings such as salads, appetizers, and desserts. You will support cooks by handling simpler tasks like opening cans, preparing vegetables, and making coffee. Additional duties include scraping and racking dishes on the dishwashing line, cleaning pots and utensils, and helping to store food after serving periods.

Education & Training

Candidates must be at least 18 years old and able to follow both oral and written instructions. Completion of dietary safety orientation and quiz during onboarding is required, along with Food Safety training immediately upon hire. Additional courses on Modified Diets and ServSafe certification must be completed within the first month and three months of employment, respectively.

Experience

Previous experience in food service is preferred but not mandatory. A willingness to learn and contribute to a team-oriented environment is essential.

Requirements
