Position Overview
As a Burn Table Operator, you will be responsible for operating CNC plasma and/or oxy-fuel cutting tables to cut steel plate into precise parts for trailer frames, hitches, crossmembers, and brackets. You'll play a critical role in the first stage of our manufacturing process, ensuring our welders and assemblers have high-quality, accurately cut components.

Position Overview
As a Burn Table Operator, you will be responsible for operating CNC plasma and/or oxy-fuel cutting tables to cut steel plate into precise parts for trailer frames, hitches, crossmembers, and brackets. You'll play a critical role in the first stage of our manufacturing process, ensuring our welders and assemblers have high-quality, accurately cut components.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation: Load material, set up, and operate CNC plasma/oxy-fuel burn tables.
- Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret shop drawings, cut sheets, and nested layouts to ensure accurate cutting.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished parts using calipers, tape measures, and protractors to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Material Handling: Safely operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, and forklifts to move heavy steel plates and cut parts.
- Part Finishing: Deburr, grind, and slag parts as needed to ensure clean edges for welding.
- Routine Maintenance: Perform daily operator maintenance (cleaning torch tips, replacing consumables, slag removal from table).
- Safety: Maintain a clean workspace and strictly adhere to all company safety policies and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.
- Experience: 1+ years operating CNC plasma or oxy-fuel burn tables (experience in structural steel or trailer manufacturing preferred).
- Technical Skills: Ability to read blueprints, cut sheets, and shop drawings.
- Equipment: Experience with overhead cranes and forklifts preferred.
- Tools: Proficient with tape measures, calipers, grinders, and hand tools.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, work in a shop environment, and regularly lift/move up to 50 lbs.
- Work Ethic: Strong attention to detail, good attendance, and a team-player attitude.
