Qualifications Associate Degree, two-year technical school degree in electrical, plumbing or HVAC trade preferred or verification of advanced skills training or 5 years of related experience REPORTS TO: Maintenance Technician/Operations Supervisor JOB GOAL: To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to learn, plan, and develop. CLASSIFICATION: Mechanical Performance Responsibilities Responsible for safety and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, boilers, and plumbing. Assist grounds crew and building envelope when needed. Advise the Maintenance Technician / Operations Supervisor of repairs requiring the services of a contractor. Perform in-house repairs and preventive maintenance procedures to ensure a safe and efficient physical plant operation. Examines district-owned facilities on a regular basis for purposes of preventative maintenance and safety. Aptitude to identify failure sources of mechanical and physical plant systems. Document all services to systems Ability to work in poor weather conditions for service to critical systems. Ability to climb and work from ladders, scaffolding, roofs, and other areas above ground level. Maintain comprehensive inventory of replacement parts. Facilitate completion of all mechanical repairs. Review and prioritize approved work order requests. Ability to lift and move heavy items using safe and proper techniques. Twenty-four hour availability to respond to emergency conditions. Assists in supervising operations associated with the care of school district property. Performs tasks consistent with the responsibilities of the position, and/or as directed by the Maintenance Technician/Operations Supervisor. Perform other duties as may be assigned.
