Sloomoo launched in October 2019 with a 12,000 square-foot experience in Soho, NYC, featuring hand-crafted artisanal slime, dozens of textures and scents, soothing ASMR, and playful experiences that converge with contemporary design. Sloomoo’s universe has expanded to include five Institutes (NYC, LA, Houston, Chicago, Atlanta) and two MiniMoos (Boston, Philadelphia). The mission: Deliver joy, whether you’re a kid or kid-at-heart. Position Summary The General Manager will oversee all operations of their location. In this role you will be responsible for the strategic and daily operations of Sloomoo Inc., leading a staff of 40+ on a daily basis to deliver an exceptional guest experience, while manufacturing thousands of tons of slime each year. You will lead the daily operation and management of Sloomoo Inc., creating an inclusive culture and a warm welcome for guests, volunteers, and staff. You will be confident in managing people, projects, and budgets, know when to delegate and when to take ownership, and bring a positive, empowering attitude to the team. Your motivating approach will ensure delivery to a high standard across the site. You will collaborate with a range of stakeholders and demonstrate flexibility and a proactive, diplomatic problem-solving approach. You will take the lead on planning and delivering work streams, keeping the VP of Operations informed and involved in key decision making. You will help uphold Sloomoo’s values. Develop and manage multi-million-dollar budgets, forecasts, and profitability. Manage floor manager, production, retail store manager, and staff. Procurement and inventory management. Develop Standard Operating Procedures and ensure adherence. Maintain brand integrity throughout the experience. Operate a multi-million-dollar retail store, develop planograms, manage promotions, signage, and product placement. Provide leadership and line management to the Sloomoo Inc. team, ensuring appropriate resourcing for new developments and staffing across the site. Support all operational departments to review practices and implement improvements to reduce accidents. Maximize guest admissions income, forecast future budgets with the senior management team. Control labor spend to meet and exceed targets. Deliver a world-class guest experience as evidenced by positive survey results. Provide an engaging and rewarding workplace with strong retention and opportunities for promotion. Meet and exceed projected guest counts and revenue targets. Implement improvements for guest satisfaction, employee experience, and revenue growth. Use data to drive sales and production decisions. Complete accident/incident reports with follow-through and resolution within 24 hours. Other responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Preferred bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business administration, or related field. Experience in operational management within a guest-facing operation. Budgetary and line management experience (essential). Ability to prioritize needs across departments. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner with staff at all levels. Ability to engage with colleagues in a diplomatic manner. Energetic, perceptive, confident problem-solver with a good sense of humor. Minimum age: 18 years.
