Customer Service FCL AssociateSchedule: Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Salary: $15.00-$16.00Main ActivitiesAccurate recordkeeping is essential to the timely and effective transportation of goods, which is a major component of logisticsResponsible for outgoing shipments. They determine that the right merchandise is being sent and is in as-ordered conditionKeep records on the destination, weight, and charges on all incoming and outgoing freight. They check rate charges by means of rate charts. This work is often automated and computerized. Customer Service Associates also keep a file of claims for overcharges and damage to goods in transitRecord shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposesContact Load Planner to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materialsConfer and correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specificationsCompute amounts, such as space available, and shipping, storage, and charges for delays, using calculator or rate sheetsVerify information, operate data entry software such as VIntermodal and Imexnet, and prepare documentsProcesses information from different departments and customers, and a variety of other forms of documents by resolving inconsistencies and reviewing data for errors using standard data entry proceduresRequesting further information for documents that are deemed incompleteVerifying, correcting, deleting unnecessary data, or combining data from several sources before entering into the systemEntering information into specific document formats received electronically or hand-written pages or figures contained in electronic filesAccess online browser-based systems as per customer requirements and other affiliated business entitiesScan photos, blueprints and other documents for data input into document management systems such as Synergize or image databaseAssist when requested to gather and arrange documentation and data for department auditsMaintain records of all outgoing and incoming shipments from and to the warehouse and or container yard utilizing VIntermodal and ImexnetAccurately tracks and invoices chassis usage days for import and export operationsPartner with Billing Associates to process invoices for customers and/or resolve invoice discrepanciesAnalyze inventory reports to ensure cargo and/or containers are compliant with allotted free timesOversee and expedite the order life cycle of shipments and Freight Bills to meet and exceed department KPI'sEnsure shipment charges are processed through company-approved forms of payment such as CargoSprint, PayCargo, credit, and checksWork with Payables Associates on providing relevant data and documentation for vendor cost processingUtilize web-based resources and company systems to notify customers of incoming and outgoing cargo and/or containersCoordinating with compliance, transportation, warehouse, and terminal teams within the organization for smoothly receiving/ shipping of cargo and/or containersAny other task as required by the Customer Service Supervisor / Manager8:00 AM - 5:00 PM MST Monday - Friday Salary Range 15 - 16 USD 40.00 hours Weekly Payroll
