About the Position

Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: RRT Specialty: Respiratory Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00 - 07:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Not specified Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Basic floor therapies Nebulizer treatments Chest physiotherapy Nocturnal pulse oximetry Obtaining arterial blood gases Bipap management Description: The unit has over 500 beds and a staff of 30. There are 6 therapists on day shift including a charge person. The night shift consists of 5 therapists including a charge person. Patient ratios are maintained according to departmental standards. Equipment includes EPOC for blood gases, PB 840, Newport, ReVel, LTV, and V60. Electronic medical record system used is Meditech. Candidates must possess skills in basic floor therapies. Preferred skills include vent and Bipap management and ICU experience. Typical procedures performed include HHN, CPT, Bipap and vent management, and extubation. Floating areas may include CICU, SICU, MICU, and step-down units. Dress code requires royal blue scrubs. The position entails working three 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends.
