Nursing Supervisor, PRN Nights

Description Kindred Hospital Indianapolis is a 59-bed long-term acute-care hospital located by White River just off North White Parkway. We partner with physicians and offer 24-hour clinical care seven days a week to support extended recovery periods. Job Summary Supervises nursing staff, assesses patient needs, and provides nursing care. Plans and organizes training for unit staff members and participates in guidance and educational programs. Essential Functions Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates designated nursing staff; assigns duties and coordinates nursing services Participates in developing nursing protocols and procedures Provides continuing education and staff development opportunities for nursing staff Assesses patient needs; participates in providing nursing care; ensures services are carried out and documented appropriately Maintains patient healthcare records Maintains supply inventory records; orders supplies and equipment as necessary Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Expectations Supervisory skills and ability to evaluate job performance Ability to make decisions and accept responsibility for the work unit Time‑management skills and ability to organize priorities Ability to maintain confidentiality of all patient and/or employee information to assure rights are protected Good and regular attendance Fluent English reading, writing, and speaking Approximate percent of time required to travel: 0% Performs other related duties as assigned Qualifications Education Degree from an accredited school of nursing Licenses/Certifications Valid state Registered Nurse license Valid BLS certification Experience Two years of nursing experience in a hospital 1 to 2 years supervisory/leadership experience #J-18808-Ljbffr Kindred
