Front of House Team Member — Paris Baguette (Bethesda, MD)
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: Starting at $16/hour, plus shared tips

Must-Haves for This Role

• Punctuality and reliable daily attendance are required. Being on time and showing up for every scheduled shift is essential to running our store and taking care of our guests.
• Relentless focus on customer service and satisfaction. Every interaction should leave the guest feeling welcomed, valued, and eager to return.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to every customer who visits the store or calls in an order, in line with Paris Baguette's high standards of excellence.
• Check the quality of all products on display and rotate pastries and desserts as needed to maintain freshness.
• Prepare beverages, including coffee, as needed and on demand during business hours.
• Keep all areas of the store clean throughout business hours.
• Refill and organize all pastries and beverages on display.
• Work with a strong sense of urgency, honesty, and integrity, and as efficiently as possible.
• Assist guests with inquiries and educate them on menu items and current promotions.
• Operate the POS system (Toast), including cash handling and credit card processing, with strong attention to accuracy.
• Stay open to learning about our quality products, specialty menu items, and coffee program.
• Greet every guest with eye contact, a smile, and genuine warmth.
• Keep the guest at the center of every decision.
• Help guests make order decisions and guide them through the ordering process.
• Suggestively sell to enhance the guest experience and support sales growth.
• Make guests and fellow team members feel comfortable and welcome — smiling, spreading joy, and staying positive in every interaction are non-negotiable.

What You Need to Have

• Minimum 1–2 years of retail, customer service, and/or food handling experience.
• High school diploma/GED or some college.
• A positive, passionate attitude.
• A strong sense of integrity and ownership.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and remain on your feet for the duration of a shift.
• Strong time management, with the ability to prioritize and follow direction.
• Commitment to food safety guidelines.
• Proficiency with point-of-sale systems (currently Toast), with an understanding of the importance of accurate cash handling and transactions.
• Openness to feedback — we can only learn, grow, and improve our service if we listen to what our customers and team are telling us.
• High emotional intelligence, with the ability to work with diverse teams through empathy, intuition, self-motivation, and drive.
• A team-first mindset that fosters a collaborative, engaged environment.
• Enthusiasm for being a brand ambassador, with strong knowledge of and commitment to Paris Baguette's mission, vision, brand values, and culture.
