Registered Nurse In Intensive Care Unit

The role involves working in an Intensive Care Unit environment. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in ICU settings. The ICU typically has a ratio of 1:1 to 1:2 for patient care. Responsibilities include managing critically ill patients and providing high-level nursing care. Candidates must be proficient in reading and interpreting EKG strips. Ventilator management is a requirement for this position. The shift is 12 hours, from 7 PM to 7:30 AM. Staff members will rotate on weekends and holidays. Self-scheduling is utilized, and schedules are posted four weeks in advance. Nurse aides are available as staffing dictates. Charge nurse duties may include break relief and general oversight. Candidates are expected to float to sister facilities as needed. Unit layout is designed to enhance patient care efficiency. The environment supports a collaborative approach to patient management. Common patient diagnoses are primarily medical in nature. Emergency pharmacy and respiratory services are available 24/7. Candidates should be prepared for orientation on the specific floor with a preceptor. All necessary equipment and support services are readily accessible.
