Mechanical DesignerCTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for a Mechanical Designer. Type: Contract Location: Wilmington, NC Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Wilmington, NC Pay Rate: Based on experience Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm Education: Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.Description CTG is seeking a Mechanical Designer to design and modify mechanical equipment, components, and layouts for industrial manufacturing systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, mechanical drafting, manufacturing drawings, and equipment design.Requirements:Create and modify mechanical designs, equipment layouts, and detailed manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD and InventorDevelop drawing packages, machine part lists, build packages, illustrations, and equipment specificationsRedesign components to resolve equipment interference, design issues, and installation challengesPrepare sketches and marked-up drawings and implement engineering design changesApply knowledge of machining, fabrication, manufacturing processes, and mechanical systemsInterpret electrical schematics and translate engineering requirements into mechanical designsCollaborate with engineering, manufacturing, vendors, and cross-functional teamsMaintain a strong commitment to workplace and job-site safetyQualifications:3–5 years of mechanical design/drafting experience, preferably in industrial or manufacturing environmentsProficiency with AutoCAD and Autodesk InventorExperience with mechanical equipment design, CAD drafting, layouts, and manufacturing drawingsKnowledge of machining, fabrication, and manufacturing processesAbility to interpret electrical schematicsStrong problem-solving, attention to detail, organization, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a team environmentExperience with precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measuresMinimal travel to vendor locations may be requiredAdditional Information:No third party resumes will be acceptedDrug testing and/or other employment-related inquiries may be conductedCTG will consider for employment-qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of all applicable local, state, and federal laws.All interested individuals MUST be able to work on a W2 Tax basis (no C2C or third party vendors)CTG is an Equal Employment Opportunity employerCTG is an E-Verify Company
