Certified Nurse Midwife, Women's Health - Sparta, NJ

Job Description Atlantic Health, one of New Jersey's largest non‑profit health care networks, is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our interdisciplinary health care team at 89 Sparta Ave, Suite 205, Sparta, NJ 07871. The CNM works under physician supervision, provides direct patient care in outpatient and inpatient settings, assists with obstetrical and gynecological care, documents patient records, participates in performance improvement, and attends department meetings and special projects as outlined in the APN/Physician agreement. Inpatient Setting (Labor & Delivery Unit) Attends the patient throughout labor, monitors fetal condition, administers medications, and notifies the physician of complications. Evaluates labor progression and collaborates with clinicians on emergencies, including assisting with C‑sections. Handles pre‑term labor, rupture of membranes, and other emergencies for pregnant women over 28 weeks. Provides post‑partum care, triages emergencies such as hemorrhage or hypertension. Takes hospital call for OB deliveries, rounds on patients, and works flexible hours including evenings if needed. Travels to additional offices and participates in on‑call and weekend/holiday coverage. Ambulatory Office‑Based Care Performs routine gynecological care, diagnoses medical conditions, orders and interprets diagnostic tests, and prescribes treatments. Provides ant‑partum maternal care, including routine prenatal visits, education, and birthing preparation. Assists mothers and families throughout pregnancy and post‑pregnancy care. Counsels patients on contraceptives, reproductive health, and family planning. Delivers complete postpartum care, including lactation support. Qualifications Master’s degree in Midwifery or related field. Current state/regional license to practice as a registered professional nurse and nurse midwife.
