Quality Control Glassware/Floor Cleaning TechnicianOnsite in Hauppauge, NY Contract Role, 1 year with possible extensionLab Floor Cleaner & Glassware WasherResponsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of laboratory floors and glassware to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.Key Responsibilities:Clean and sanitize laboratory floors, including sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting as per SOP requirementsWash, rinse, and dry laboratory glassware (e.g., beakers, flasks, pipettes) using appropriate cleaning agents and proceduresEnsure all glassware is free from residue, contamination, and suitable for analytical useOperate and maintain glassware washing equipment (manual or automated washers)Segregate clean and used glassware properly and store in designated areasDispose of waste materials in accordance with safety and environmental guidelinesMaintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor for replenishmentFollow all laboratory safety protocols, including PPE usage and chemical handling proceduresSupport audit readiness by ensuring cleanliness standards are consistently metReport any equipment malfunctions, breakages, or safety concerns promptlyRemoval or emptying of trash cans regularlyUse the caution signs while cleaning/mopping the floors for safety concerns (for wet floors)Performing the activities without distraction (should not use the mobile in the lab)Physical Requirements:Ability to lift and carry 60 lbs. or more regularlyAbility to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift)Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as bending, lifting, and reachingMust be able to wear required PPE for extended periods.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent preferredPrior experience in laboratory, cleaning, or housekeeping roles is a plusBasic understanding of hygiene and safety practicesSkills & Competencies:Attention to detail and cleanliness standardsAbility to follow SOPs and instructions accuratelyTime management and organizational skillsBasic knowledge of chemical safety (preferred)Ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environmentWork Environment:Laboratory setting with exposure to chemicals and glasswareRequires standing, bending, and lifting for extended periodsMust adhere to PPE and safety regulations at all timesRequires adherence to strict safety and cleanliness standards
