Clinical Nurse Faculty (RN) – Adult Vocational Academy

Location: Herkimer, NY

Employment Type: Full-Time, 10-Month Academic Calendar

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $40,296 – $57,391/year — Based on experience and qualifications (plus up to $13,000 in additional earning potential via optional summer and evening sessions)
  

• Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM – 3:10 PM; shifts adjust to 6:30 AM – 1:30 PM for clinical rotations 2–3 days a week (December–June)

Job Summary

Transition from the bedside to the classroom by leading an adult LPN curriculum. You will split your time between engaging classroom lectures, hands-on simulation labs, and local clinical oversight, serving as a pivotal mentor for aspiring nurses within a highly supportive academic framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive nursing instruction covering biological, physical, and psychological patient care principles

• Supervise, evaluate, and mentor nursing students during hands-on clinical rotations at local healthcare facilities within a 16-mile radius

• Adapt teaching strategies and instructional methods to accommodate diverse adult learning styles

• Maintain meticulous and accurate records of student classroom attendance and clinical performance

• Partner with fellow nursing faculty to develop course outlines, refine curriculum, and optimize teaching schedules

Minimum Requirements

• Active and unrestricted Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license in New York State

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required; must be actively enrolled in or have completed a related Master’s Degree program

• Willingness to obtain New York State Adult Education Teacher Certification (on-site workshops and full assistance provided by the employer)

• Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation for travel to local clinical sites

• Ability to successfully pass a standard NYS educational background check and fingerprinting clearance

Ideal Qualifications

• Previous experience serving as a clinical instructor or educator within a formal nursing program

• Exceptional presentation and communication skills tailored for engaging adult learners
