Job Title: Physical Therapist – Putnam Hospital, Carmel, NY Location: Carmel, New York Company: Putnam Hospital Center Department: Physical Therapy Satellite Salary: $67.00 per hour Job Summary: Putnam Hospital is seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join our team in Carmel, NY. The Physical Therapist will evaluate, treat, and educate pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with disabilities, traumatic injuries, pain, disease, or other dysfunctions. The role focuses on helping patients achieve maximum functional performance and reintegrate into their communities. Key Responsibilities Deliver patient-centered care following a medically prescribed physical therapy program. Assess and treat patients with orthopedic, neurological, vestibular, and other conditions. Educate patients and families on treatment plans, exercises, and injury prevention. Maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical records (EMR). Demonstrate proper use of physical therapy procedures and equipment for patient safety. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. Education & Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree from an accredited physical therapy program required . Master’s or Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree preferred . One (1) year of relevant work experience preferred . Experience with electronic medical records (1–2 years) preferred . Experience treating orthopedic, neurological, or vestibular disorders (1–2 years) preferred . Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong communication, problem-solving, and patient education skills. Ability to adapt and extend effort to meet patient and department needs. Proficient in physical therapy procedures and safe equipment handling. Licenses & Certifications Active New York State Physical Therapist License required , or eligible with a temporary permit. Working Conditions Manual Skills: Significant manual dexterity and motor coordination required. Occupational Risks: Exposure to physical, chemical, and environmental hazards. Physical Effort: Regular patient handling and mobility support. Environment: Occasional exposure to odors, noise, and human waste.
