At Dunes Animal Hospital, we prioritize patient care. We offer preventative care, ultrasound, in-house Idexx laboratory suite, digital x-ray, and orthopedics. We also partner with our local wildlife rescue. All veterinary students, regardless of class year, are encouraged to participate in NVA externships, with preference given to students in their final year(s) of veterinary school. At Dunes Animal Hospital, we are committed to lifelong learning. Our goal is to educate veterinary student externs by providing learning opportunities that enhance their knowledge and clinical skills. We are a fun, fast-paced hospital with great clientele. Veterinary students participate directly with our clinicians in case management. Ideal candidates are: Veterinary students in good academic standing at an AVMA-accredited school of Veterinary Medicine. Hard-working, motivated, friendly, and team-oriented. Most externship experiences range from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules.
