Job OverviewThis position is responsible for providing all basic legal services required as part of in-house legal team. The position is focused on regulatory matters primarily on Federal Energy Regulatory Commission matters involving certificate filings, tariff issues, rate cases, as well as general support of the Customer Service and Business Development departments. This position provides professional legal services, representation, guidance, and advice, performs legal research, drafts documents and pleadings. Responsibilities also include representing company in judicial or administrative proceedings and/or managing outside counsel representing company in such proceedings. Position will work under supervision of a more experienced attorney. (Will also consider Senior Attorney level candidates)Strong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to communicate effectively with diverse individuals at all levels and areas within the organizationAbility to problem solveAbility to work comfortably in both corporate and field settingsAbility to research, design and deliver effective presentationsAbility to explain and teach legal concepts in layperson's termsAbility to appropriately handle confidential dataAbility to review and draft various legal documentsAbility to work independentlyIntermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Word and Outlook, basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPointOther RequirementsTravel up to 5 - 10% of time, automobile and planeValid driver's license and insurabilityAbility to work in a fast-paced environment.License and InsurabilityA valid driver's license and insurability under company policy are required.
