Qualifications:

• At least 21 years of age.
• Minimum of one- year Assistant Director experience.
• Minimum of Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education
• Ability to communicate positively with children, families, partners, and other team members.
• Can demonstrate success in working as a member and leader of a team of up to twenty people.
• Ability to receive constructive criticism with a positive and learning attitude.
• Embraces diversity, equity and inclusiveness among cultures, religions, race, ethnicities, sex, and abilities.
• Models exemplary professionalism and work ethics and demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities by creating and maintaining a positive environment for all Teachers, Volunteers, and other Team members
• Manages the overall operation of the childcare center, ensuring a high quality, nurturing, educational, and safe environment for children is always maintained.

Program Management and Operations:

• Implements all policies and procedures in accordance with Caterpillar Corner Childcare’s vision, mission, philosophy, and core values.
• Implements all policies and procedures in accordance with the State of Michigan’s Child Care Licensing Division.
• Takes enforcement action when policies are not followed.
• Ensure the center operates in compliance with licensing rules for Childcare centers in the State of Michigan, the CACFP, Early Head Start, Head Start, GSRP, and the State of Michigan’s Child Development and Care Subsidy Program.
• Manage all inspections and the licensing renewal process in conjunction with the center owner.
• Attend Monthly Director’s EHS/HS/GSRP Meetings
• Plan Professional Development Days, All Training, FIP Meetings
