Partners with patients and their family/designated care partner(s) in identifying learning needs and priorities, and provides education that is useful, understandable, and affirming; minimizes risk of harm by following established nursing practices and protocols. Uses information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support ethical decision‑making; uses data to monitor outcomes and applies improvement methods to design and test changes that continuously improve patient care quality and safety. Minimum Qualifications Specialized Diploma Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required. Patient‑and Family‑Centered Practice knowledge to convey respect and collaborate with patients, families, and designated care partners. Cultural Awareness knowledge of diverse backgrounds and ability to convey respect and connect effectively. Effective Communication understanding of communication concepts, tools, and techniques; ability to transmit, receive, and interpret ideas, information, and needs; uses partnership language with patients and families and appropriately delegates to team members. Patient Assessment and Care knowledge to assess ailments and injuries and implement treatment plans. Patient and Designated Care Partner Education knowledge of child and adult education techniques; ability to elicit learning priorities and educate patients and their designated care partners on condition, treatment, medications, and recovery steps. Medication Administration and Prescription knowledge of various medications and ability to administer and prescribe drugs for continued treatment outside the hospital. Discharge Planning knowledge of post‑discharge needs and ability to partner with patients and families in developing discharge plans and arranging follow‑up care. Assessment and Diagnosis knowledge of tools and techniques for patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, or clinical judgement; ability to analyze symptoms and generate resolutions with available resources. Health Information Documentation knowledge of relevant health information and documentation methods; ability to record medical histories, symptoms, vital signs, medications, diagnoses, treatment plans, procedures, tests, and results electronically or in writing. BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association. RN - Licensed Registered Nurse, PA - State of Pennsylvania. RN - Licensed Registered Nurse, NJ - State of New Jersey. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree (BSN) or completion of BSN or an appropriate advanced degree within 3 years of hire strongly preferred. 1 year previous experience as an RN in an acute care setting strongly preferred. Physical Demands Lift and carry 40‑50 lbs. Examples: push/pull patients on bed or stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of patient weight. Frequent or continuous standing/walking; may walk 8‑10 miles per shift. May perform kneeling, bending, squatting, and performing CPR.
