Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Summary:
The Staff Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care within a medical-surgical setting, utilizing nursing best practices, technology, and resources to coordinate comprehensive care. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient treatment in collaboration with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities:

• Perform all unit-specific nursing duties, ensuring adherence to clinical standards and procedures.
• Conduct initial patient assessments and develop individualized care plans aligned with patient and family needs.
• Document nursing care accurately and thoroughly to ensure seamless communication among healthcare providers.
• Administer medications following the "5 Rights" protocol, maintaining patient safety and medication accuracy.
• Monitor and evaluate patient conditions continuously, making necessary adjustments to care plans.
• Promote a safe environment by reporting hazards, adhering to safety protocols, and facilitating patient mobility and fall prevention measures.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Illinois RN license in good standing.
• Possess a minimum of one year of relevant nursing experience.
• Certified in BLS (American Heart Association).
• Have an ASN degree; a BSN degree is preferred.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
