Job Title: Warehouse Associate Job Description

The Warehouse Associate plays a key role in daily warehouse operations, with a strong focus on safe and efficient sit-down forklift operation. This contract-to-hire position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable spending most of their shift operating a forklift while supporting material handling, shipping and receiving, and inventory activities. The role includes moving materials throughout the facility, loading and unloading products, and assisting with order picking and general warehouse tasks. Successful performance during the contract period may lead to permanent employment and access to company benefits.

• Operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently for approximately 80–90% of the workday.
• Move, store, and retrieve materials throughout the warehouse while maintaining accuracy and productivity.
• Load and unload products in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Perform general warehouse duties, including order picking, pallet wrapping, and material handling.
• Assist with inventory movement, organization, and basic inventory management tasks.
• Conduct cycle counts and verify inventory to ensure accurate product locations and quantities.
• Help investigate and report inventory discrepancies as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift.
• Follow all warehouse safety guidelines and forklift operating procedures at all times.
• Inspect forklifts and other equipment before use and promptly report any issues or concerns.
• Work safely and effectively in a non-temperature-controlled warehouse environment.
• Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent operations.
• Collaborate with warehouse staff and leadership to meet daily operational goals.
• Adapt to changing business demands and support additional tasks as needed to ensure smooth warehouse operations.

• Prior sit-down forklift experience, with the ability to safely operate a sit-down forklift for most of the shift.
• Proficiency in material handling, including moving, lifting, and organizing warehouse products.
• Experience in basic shipping and receiving processes within a warehouse environment.
• Ability to perform inventory management tasks, including cycle counting and inventory verification.
• Strong attention to detail to maintain accuracy in order picking, inventory tracking, and documentation.
• Effective time management skills to complete tasks within scheduled shift hours.
• Clear communication skills to work collaboratively with team members and follow instructions.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical warehouse tasks throughout the workday.
• Capability to lift, move, and handle warehouse materials as required by daily operations.
• Comfort working in a non-temperature-controlled facility with varying seasonal temperatures.
• Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to established warehouse procedures.

• Material handling experience in a warehouse or similar environment.
• Experience with shipping and receiving operations and related documentation.
• Familiarity with inventory management practices and cycle counting.
• Ability to complete basic warehouse documentation accurately.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to support team goals.
• Reliability in attendance and punctuality.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment that requires sustained focus and attention to detail.

The role is based in a busy warehouse setting with a strong team-oriented and family-focused culture. The position follows a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, and requires appropriate attire for a warehouse environment where physical activity and equipment operation are part of the daily routine.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Edison, NJ.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
