Chipmakers around the world rely on our tools and process expertise to deliver the semiconductors that power modern life, from smartphones and computers to vehicles and advanced electronics.As a Manufacturing Supervisor, you will play a critical leadership role in driving operational excellence, developing employees, and ensuring production goals are met safely, efficiently, and with the highest quality standards.Position SummaryThe Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for leading day-to-day production operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. This role partners closely with Engineering, Planning, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations teams to support production schedules, product introductions, and continuous improvement initiatives.The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader who can motivate teams, solve problems, and drive performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise daily manufacturing operations to ensure production, quality, delivery, and cost targets are achieved.Prioritize and manage production schedules based on customer demand, new product introductions, equipment availability, and material supply.Monitor production performance and implement corrective actions to address operational challenges and improve efficiency.Develop staffing plans and manpower requirements to support business and production objectives.Coach, develop, and evaluate employees to build a high-performing, engaged, and accountable workforce.Foster a culture of safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.Partner with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Planning, and other cross-functional teams to resolve issues and optimize production processes.Support new product introductions and process improvements to ensure smooth transitions into production.Establish and maintain standard operating procedures and drive adherence to manufacturing best practices.Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and utilize data to identify opportunities for process improvements and operational excellence.Assist in developing and managing departmental budgets, resource planning, and cost reduction initiatives.Support capital equipment planning and recommendations to improve manufacturing capability and efficiency.Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and quality standards.QualificationsRequired Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or operations environment.Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience preferred.Experience managing production schedules, workforce planning, and operational performance metrics.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong leadership and employee development skills.Ability to motivate and manage teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and shifts.Experience utilizing ERP, MES, or other manufacturing systems is preferred.Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, or related methodologies is a plus.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Why Axcelis?At Axcelis, you'll join a global technology leader whose products help power the devices and technologies used every day around the world.What You'll EnjoyOpportunity to lead and develop a talented manufacturing teamExposure to advanced manufacturing technologies and processesCollaborative, innovation-driven cultureCareer growth and development opportunitiesCompetitive compensation and comprehensive benefits packageMeaningful work supporting products that enable next-generation semiconductor technologyEQUAL OPPORTUNITY STATEMENTIt is the policy of Axcelis to provide equal opportunity in all areas of employment for all persons free from discrimination based on race, sex, religion, age, color, national origin, disability status, medical condition (including pregnancy), veteran status, sexual orientation, marital status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law. The range provides the opportunity for growth and progression as you develop within the role.Base pay is one part of our U.S. total compensation package which includes eligibility in the Axcelis Team Incentive bonus plan, and comprehensive benefits package (for regular employees working 20+ hours a week).
