Meat Cutter (Full-Time)

Position Overview Our Meat Cutters are responsible for ensuring the meat cases are well-stocked with fresh, high-quality meat, poultry, and fish products. They receive, stock, cut, grind, wrap, weigh, price, and merchandise all meat department products, ensuring proper inventory control and product rotation to maximize freshness and availability while minimizing waste. Meat Cutters also provide genuine and compassionate “extra mile” service to our guests. Key Responsibilities Ensures that all items (meat and seafood) in back stock are properly placed in the cases or on shelves. Oversees daily merchandising and product maintenance; makes sure shelves are fully stocked, organized, clean, and that product has proper representation/facing on shelves; ensures all product is pulled to the front of the shelves and has an organized appearance. Shelf tag maintenance – makes sure all products have accurate tags and communicates needs for any changes. Continually organizes back stock to ensure all products lacking shelf space availability are organized and maintained. Maintains cleanliness of shelving, coolers and cooler doors as needed. Cuts, trims, bones, ties, and grinds meats and whole animals such as beef, pork, poultry, veal, lamb, venison, and fish, and ensures minimal waste. Wraps, weighs, labels, and prices product accurately and per protocol. Assists with receiving as necessary and verifies that all product has been received as noted on invoices and that charges are as expected. Provides customers with exemplary service through availability on the sales floor; completing special orders, doing research, and providing educational materials/information. Requirements At least 1 year in a professional kitchen environment or equivalent experience. Previous meat & seafood retail environment experience preferred. Previous experience in breaking down primal cuts of meat preferred. Previous experience working with local, organic products and familiarity with standards regarding local, organic products is preferred. Location 3065 Route 50, Saratoga Springs, NY Hours Full-time, open availability and weekend availability preferred. Pay Starts at $18.50/hr; previous experience will be taken into consideration.
