RN 2 North - FT (1611195) Description The 2 North unit is responsible for the treatment of patients requiring medical and surgical nursing care, initiating life‑saving procedures, providing emergency care for each patient as well as care to patients that require telemetry monitoring. The unit delivers care including assessment, problem identification, pre‑operative assessment, pre‑ and post‑operative care, interventions, treatment and evaluation of actual, potential, or perceived physical or psychological problems. Admissions assessment Pre‑ and post‑operative care Pre‑ and post‑endoscopic procedures Post‑operative care for patients receiving general, spinal, or epidural anesthesia, local/MAC and local with sedation Medication administration, IV therapy, and administration of blood and blood products Post radiation treatments and pain control Pulse oximeter, O₂ therapy Insertion of Foley catheters, PCA, blood warmers, NG tube placement and tube feedings Assisting physician with insertion of chest tubes, abdominal paracentesis and thoracentesis Maintenance of CVP lines, PICC lines, Mediports, and blood draws from these lines Application and dressing changes; maintenance and care of critical drips (Heparin and KCL only) Qualifications Graduate of a School of Nursing/College Nursing Education Program Current licensure by the West Virginia State Board of Nursing Pass pre‑employment medication test with a score of 80% or better #J-18808-Ljbffr
