What you'll do: Responsible for coordinating library activities in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and customer directives. Essential Functions:
- Plan and organize library program for detainees.
- Adhere to and enforce library policies and programs.
- Select, acquire and organize library materials for convenient access.
- Review requests and select books and other library materials according to mental state, educational background, and special needs of detainees.
- Coordinate the work of detainees assigned to assist in the library and oversee the work of the detainees using the library.
- Regular attendance is required.
- Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.
- Maintain accountability of detainees and property; adhere to safety practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six (6) months of library, clerical, administrative or related experience required.
- Must successfully complete required preservice training.
- Valid driver's license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
