Staff Software Development Engineer

Overview Position Summary: CVS Pharmacy Inc., a CVS Health company, is hiring for the following role in Scottsdale, AZ: Staff Software Development Engineer to design and develop software applications and platforms to support digital strategies and solutions. Responsibilities Analyze user needs and develop software solutions to meet business requirements. Determine feasibility of solutions design and prepare technical design documentation. Upgrade existing software applications and/or systems to improve functionality and features with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability. Write and review high quality code and perform unit and/or automation testing. Develop and deploy application components and support unit testing and bug fixes. Participate in AGILE Scrum meetings and/or CI/CD. Support applications, systems, and databases used to process prescriptions, claims, and related healthcare activities. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on applications development, technical requirements, code review, project deliverables, quality assurance, and software development best practices. Independently lead development of solutions with high complexity and risk. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field and five (5) years of progressive, postbaccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Requires five (5) years of experience in each of the following: Java and J2EE; CI/CD, Jenkins, GIT, or DevOps; Software development lifecycle (SDLC); Angular, React, jQuery, Ajax, Bootstrap, or Backbone; XML, JSON, HTML, CSS, or JavaScript; Agile methodologies or SAFe Software Development Principles; Eclipse, IntelliJ, and VisualStudio; GIT; SVN; Designing and developing highly scalable Java/J2EE applications; Estimating efforts based on new enhancements and updating them in Rally Agile Tool; and Releasing the code deliverables using GIT version control system and deploying deliverables to production using Jenkins CI/CD pipeline. Compensation & Benefits Pay Range: $157,934.00/year to $236,900.00/year. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above and also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
