Information Release Technician (OA)

Help

Receive and review all incoming Freedom of Information Act/Privacy Act (FOIA/PA) requests.

Search all law enforcement databases for responsive records to requests.

Prepare correspondence and memorandums.

Conduct inquiries and special interest requests received under authority of law or policy.

Determine additional contacts and refer requesters to appropriate agencies to coordinate and re-adjust requirement and provide interim replies when unexpected data is revealed, no results are realized, or replies are subject to unavoidable delay.

Use knowledge and experience of procedures, record keeping, and automated system search procedures employing variations of search criteria to locate potentially responsive records.

Mail correspondence/memorandums/records - utilizing the appropriate method (especially for CLASSIFIED docs), i.e, Registered, Certified.
