  Location: Greater Albany, NY Area (Field-Based)

  Pay Rate: $24/hour (W-2)

Mileage Reimbursement Provided

No C2C or Third-Party Candidates

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused  IT Field Technician to provide onsite hardware installation, maintenance, and break/fix support across retail locations throughout the Greater Albany region.

This is a field-based role requiring daily travel between multiple locations. The ideal candidate has previous field service experience, strong hardware troubleshooting skills, and enjoys working independently while delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Field Service & Hardware Support

• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and repair:
• Desktop computers
• Laptops
• Printers
• Peripheral devices
• Perform onsite break/fix support at retail locations
• Diagnose and resolve hardware issues efficiently
• Replace defective hardware components as needed

Field Operations

• Travel daily between assigned customer locations
• Manage and complete assigned service tickets
• Prioritize workload to meet service expectations
• Maintain communication with the field support team throughout the day
• Accurately document completed work and service activities

Customer Support

• Provide professional onsite technical support to store personnel
• Explain technical issues and solutions clearly
• Ensure customer satisfaction throughout each service visit
• Escalate complex technical issues when appropriate

Administrative Responsibilities

• Complete required service documentation and paperwork
• Track completed work orders and service calls
• Follow established service procedures and documentation standards
• Maintain organization of tools and equipment

Travel Requirements

• Daily travel throughout the Greater Albany area
• Occasional travel to:
• Kingston, NY
• Syracuse, NY
• Vermont locations
• Some round-trip travel may exceed 5 hours
• Mileage reimbursement provided
• Reliable personal transportation required

Required Qualifications

• Previous IT field service experience strongly preferred
• Hands-on computer hardware repair experience
• Experience installing and troubleshooting printers and peripherals
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Valid driver's license with reliable personal transportation
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Comfortable working a flexible schedule, including occasional weekends and holidays
• Strong organizational and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting multiple retail or business locations
• Experience using ticketing or work order management systems
• Desktop support or field technician background
• A+, Network+, or related technical certifications
