Senior Budget Analyst

Applicant list may be screened more than once. Department of Health, P003 Program Support, Finance & Budget. Why does the job exist? This position will assist the P003 Finance Director with monthly budget projections and revenue tracking. They will also help the Finance Director and Financial Analysis Specialist with tracking encumbrances and communication with programs, bureaus, and vendors. How does it get done? Assist with monthly budget projections, including revenue and expenditures. Tracking revenue and expenditures. Meet with and train bureau financial staff, as needed. Receive and submit deposits. Prepare and submit budget adjustment requests to Finance Director. Other duties as assigned. Who are the customers? Ideal Candidate Experience assisting with the preparation and managing program budget. Experience with analyzing large complex budgets and projections of a state agency. Experience with federal grants. Experience with revenue. Knowledge and experience of SHARE Financial Modules. Knowledge and experience using Excel, including VLookups, Pivot Tables, and IF statements. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field and one (1) year of experience performing budget preparation, financial document preparation and management, policy/program analysis, budget monitoring, governmental accounting, and/or federal grant reporting. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling five (5) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.
