Job Responsibilities:

1. Adhere to monthly food budget.
2. Understand and adhere to monthly menus that meet all National School Lunch Program guidelines and meet mandated nutrition standards.
3. Work with School Administrator in carrying out District free and reduced lunch and NSLP reimbursement procedures including collection of Free/Reduced lunch forms, and cross-referencing payments to billing.
4. Estimate food preparation amounts and adjusts vendor order, if required, for the purpose of meeting projected meal requirements and minimizing waste of food items.
5. Evaluates prepared food for flavor, appearance, and temperature for the purpose of presenting items that will be accepted by students and/or staff.
6. Inspects food and/or supply deliveries for the purpose of verifying quantity, quality, and specifications of orders and/or complying with mandated health requirements.
7. Inventories food and supplies, places vendor orders, and ensures that the correct quantity and quality of food and supplies are available.
8. Ensures that high standards of sanitation, cleanliness, and safety are maintained throughout all kitchen and serving areas.
9. Maintain accurate and organized daily records including invoices, temperature logs, meal planning, and meal counts. Code and submit records.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Training:

• High School Diploma or GED

Minimum Experience:

• 2 years experience preparing meals
• Experience with kitchen sanitation, cleanliness and safety
