Automotive Mechanics

Overview Automotive Mechanics are trusted to inspect, diagnose, and perform a variety of automotive services on customers' vehicles. Responsibilities include undercar repairs such as brakes, struts, and shocks, completing state-mandated inspections, changing oil and filters, checking fluids, replacing worn parts, and dismounting, mounting, rotating, and balancing tires. Responsibilities Inspect and diagnose vehicle conditions. Perform undercar repairs such as brakes, struts, and shocks. Complete state‑mandated inspections. Change oil and filters, check fluids. Replace worn parts. Dismount, mount, rotate, and balance tires. Stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, pull, reach, and perform repetitive movements consistent with vehicle maintenance and repair. Regularly lift or move items weighing over 50 pounds. Qualifications Required qualifications: At least 18 years of age. Legally authorized to work in the United States. At least 2 years of experience or training in automotive repair and maintenance, or equivalent education, training, and experience. Extensive personal tool kit for undercar repairs. Preferred qualifications: State inspection license(s). ASE Certifications in Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair (G1), Suspension and Steering (A4), and Brakes (A5).
