Advanced Maintenance TechnicianThe Advanced Maintenance Technician is a multi-craft role responsible for performing skilled maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of production equipment and mechanical systems with minimal supervision. This role supports reliable equipment performance through preventative maintenance, independent troubleshooting, and timely repairs. The technician works closely with Operations and Maintenance teams to minimize downtime, improve equipment performance, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This position builds on foundational technical skills by applying working knowledge across mechanical and electrical systems while providing guidance to Maintenance Technicians in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Essential Duties:Functional Operations: Perform maintenance tasks with minimal supervision following established procedures, work instructions, and safety standardsEnsure operation of machinery by completing preventive maintenance on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machinesMonitor and verify equipment settings, gauge readings, HMIs, sensors, and system performance to maintain operational specificationsTroubleshoot equipment issues using diagrams, sketches, manuals, and technical specificationsRemove and replace defective components using proper tools and material handling equipment (e.g., hoists, cranes)Adjust functional components and control instruments using precision tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, levels, straightedges)Perform equipment disassembly, cleaning, repair, and reassembly according to OEM specificationsOperate and maintain tools and equipment in assigned areasPerformance Optimization & Continuous Improvement: Troubleshoot and resolve routine mechanical and electrical equipment issues independentlyLocate sources of equipment problems using observation, diagnostic tools, and precision instrumentsRead and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and hydraulic/pneumatic diagramsPerform dimensional and tolerance checks using appropriate measuring instrumentsAnalyze equipment performance and identify improvement opportunities to reduce downtimeSupport root cause analysis efforts and contribute to corrective actions for equipment failuresEscalate complex or system-level issues as neededAdvise operations personnel on proper equipment use and preventive maintenance practicesDocument and communicate maintenance actions, irregularities, and ongoing issues within work teamsSupport development and improvement of Standard Work and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activitiesTraining & Team Support: Provide day to day guidance, support, and on-the-job training to Level 3 and peer Level 4 techniciansAssist in onboarding and skill development of newer team membersReinforce standard operating procedures, maintenance practices, and safety standardsMaintain flexibility to work all scheduled shift hoursCross-Functional Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to resolve equipment issues and improve performanceCommunicate equipment status, issues, and completed work clearly and effectivelySupport implementation of industry-standard, compliant processes and proceduresCoordinate with internal teams and support vendors or contractors as neededQuality, Safety, & Compliance: Maintain accurate records of completed work, including After Action Reviews (AARs) and CMMS documentationEnsure compliance with all safety regulations, SOPs, and company quality policiesFollow 6S workplace organization standards and maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized work areaAdhere to all Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements and maintenance safety proceduresUtilize required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety protocols specific to maintenance activitiesSupervisory Responsibilities: NoneTravel Requirement: NoneEducation, Certifications, and Licenses:Required: High school diploma, GED, or 2 years of prior experience in functional areaPreferred: Associate degree or higher in a technical discipline (e.g., Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology)Lean Manufacturing Certification or Yellow Belt Journeyman CertificationPECNA-approved Technical TrainingEssential Qualifications:3+ years of relevant maintenance or technical work experienceWorking knowledge of mechanical and basic electrical systems, including electrical theory fundamentalsDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment with minimal supervisionPrior experience in a manufacturing or production environmentSuccessful completion of Ramsay mechanical or electrical aptitude assessmentAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and schematicsBasic mathematical skills and ability to perform standard calculationsStrong problem-solving skills and ability to identify and resolve routine equipment issuesAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing prioritiesAbility to work rotating shifts and overtime as requiredMust have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking EnglishAlignment to Panasonic's seven (7) core principles interpersonal skillsResilient, self-motivated, and able to perform effectively under pressurePersonal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:To ensure health and safety in the workplace and for employee protection, wearing PPE is required and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.
