Travel Cath Lab Tech Company: Fusion Medical Staffing Location: Facility in Montgomery, Alabama Job Details This 13‑week travel assignment requires a skilled Cath Lab Tech to assist in diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. Required Qualifications One year’s recent experience as a Cardiac Cath Lab Tech Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification Current ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification ARRT, RCES, or RCIS certification Preferred Qualifications Valid Radiologic Technologist license in compliance with state regulations PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certifications Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position Summary The Cath Lab Technologist assists in diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures, preparing patients and equipment, monitoring hemodynamic data, working with physicians, maintaining sterile technique, operating imaging equipment, and ensuring patient safety. Essential Work Functions Prepare and position patients for procedures such as cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, and electrophysiology studies. Assist physicians during procedures by passing catheters, wires, balloons, stents, and operating fluoroscopy and hemodynamic monitoring equipment. Operate and maintain imaging equipment, contrast injectors, and monitoring systems, ensuring proper functionality. Scrub in and assist with sterile field setup, ensuring adherence to infection control protocols. Perform sheath removal and hemostasis using manual compression or closure devices as directed. Maintain accurate documentation, including patient records, imaging data, and equipment logs. Assist with inventory management, stocking supplies, and ensuring proper storage of sterile instruments and medications. Adhere to radiation safety protocols, using lead aprons, shields, and dosimeters. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice. Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication skills. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Proficiency in following written and verbal instructions and PC skills. Physical Abilities Remain in a stationary position, move about, and move equipment (50‑100 lbs). Push, pull, and bend as necessary. Interpersonal Skills Work effectively with a variety of personnel, demonstrating a positive attitude and professionalism. Technical/Motor Skills Fine manipulation abilities, including grasp, push/pull, and moving equipment during procedures. Mental Requirements Handle frequent contact with the general public while meeting deadlines under pressure. Work under close supervision occasionally and without assistance at times. Manage irregular activity schedules occasionally, maintaining continuous concentration on detail. Sensory Maintain visual acuity and effective communication.
