Emergency Medicine - Academic Opportunities in Baltimore, Maryland The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is currently seeking interested candidates with expertise in geriatric emergency medicine for a faculty position. This academic faculty position will work closely with current faculty to grow the Department’s geriatric emergency medicine initiatives and includes significant teaching opportunities with residents, medical students and fellows. The anticipated rank is Assistant Professor; however, rank and tenure status are dependent upon the candidate’s qualifications. ACADEMIC Our Emergency Medicine physicians are faculty members of the University of Maryland School of Medicine, the first public medical school in the United States and one of the fastest-growing top-tier biomedical research enterprises in the world. TEACHING Our physicians are heavily involved in the education of medical students and residents every day. We have librarian services, technical writer, courses on grant writing and research development and a 3D printer. We collaborate with multiple disciplines and continue to expand our research program. RESIDENCY AND FELLOWSHIPS Our Emergency Medicine Residency Program, with over 70 residents, is one of the nation’s largest and most respected. We are the only program in the country to offer training in four tracks: emergency medicine, emergency medicine/pediatrics, emergency medicine/internal medicine, and emergency medicine/internal medicine/critical care.
