AccessAbilities is seeking an Associate Behavior Consultant to join our growing Indianapolis-area team to manage an established caseload.
Whether you already have experience providing behavioral or disability services or are ready to develop more specialized clinical expertise, this role offers the opportunity to build on your existing skills while receiving training and mentorship from experienced Behavior Consultants.
You'll work directly with individuals, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams while developing the competencies needed to advance into an Intermediate Behavior Consultant role.

What You'll Do
Provide Meaningful Behavioral Support
- Work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to promote independence, inclusion, self-determination, and quality of life.
- Conduct behavioral observations and assist with assessment and data collection.
- Apply behavior support strategies in homes, workplaces, and community settings.
- Collaborate with individuals, families, caregivers, Direct Support Professionals, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Assist with caregiver and staff training and consultation under clinical supervision.
- Provide direct support when appropriate to better understand individual needs, environments, and behavioral challenges.
Expand Your Clinical Expertise
Depending on your existing experience and demonstrated competencies, you will receive individualized training and opportunities to:
- Develop and strengthen skills in behavior assessment, consultation, and treatment planning.
- Administer and utilize behavioral assessment tools, including Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and other evidence-based practices.
- Develop and implement Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) .
- Strengthen your understanding of behavior consultation services, Medicaid requirements, documentation standards, and agency protocols.
- Shadow and collaborate with experienced Behavior Consultants.
- Gradually assume responsibility for a partial caseload as competencies are demonstrated.
Candidates who bring relevant behavioral or human-services experience can build upon their existing skills and progress as competencies are demonstrated.
Develop as a Behavioral Health Professional
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
- Participate in team meetings, case reviews, Human Rights Committee meetings, and professional development.
- Strengthen consultation, communication, problem-solving, and ethical decision-making skills.
- Receive mentorship and feedback from experienced professionals.
- Build the competencies needed for advancement within our Behavior Management team.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in:
- Clinical Psychology
- Counseling Psychology
- School Psychology
- Social Work
- Special Education
- Another applicable health-service area of psychology or counseling
- At least one year of experience in human services, behavioral health, developmental disabilities, mental health, social services, or a related setting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
- Commitment to person-centered, ethical, high-quality services.

Work Environment & Schedule
This is a community-based position serving individuals throughout the Indianapolis, Indiana area . Services may take place in:
- Individuals' homes
- Community settings
- Employment settings
- Other locations based on individual needs
Travel between service locations throughout the Indianapolis area is required.
The position may also involve:
- Evening and occasional weekend availability based on individual and service needs
- Navigating stairs, ramps, homes, workplaces, and community environments
- Lifting, moving, or assisting with up to 50 pounds
- Working safely and professionally in situations involving behavioral challenges
