Technician, General Facilities Maintenance - Journeyman Plumber

Position Summary This position is responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of facilities, equipment, and fixtures through preventive maintenance, major and minor repairs, and contractor management. It also involves leading teams, developing processes, and ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and Walmart quality standards. Responsibilities Perform routine preventive maintenance and inspections, cleaning, and repairs of facilities, equipment, and fixtures according to established schedules and guidelines. Diagnose and execute major and minor repairs utilizing multiple craft skills (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, food equipment, etc.), including dismantling and reassembling fixtures and operating equipment. Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractor relationships—complete and submit required written and electronic information, conduct price comparisons, order parts, track orders, record purchases, and submit warranty claims. Lead and participate in teams by coordinating assignments, providing support and feedback, and modeling adaptability to new challenges. Develop, communicate, and implement processes and practices to meet business needs, monitor progress, and identify improvement opportunities. Promote compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards, and assist management with correcting any issues. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience in the plumbing trade. Valid Driver's License. Eligible for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Licensed Journeyman Plumber or equivalent in the state where the job is performed. Preferred Qualifications Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical trade program. Intermediate proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). License in a related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located. Compensation Hourly wage range: $19.00 – $35.00 (actual rate will equal or exceed local minimum wage). Premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
